Affiliate Disclosure
Last updated: June 2026
Worth It Calculators earns revenue through affiliate partnerships and display advertising. This page explains exactly how that works, which companies we have relationships with, and how those relationships affect our content.
FTC Disclosure
In accordance with the Federal Trade Commission's guidelines on endorsements and testimonials, we disclose that some links on this website are affiliate links. When you click an affiliate link and complete a qualifying action (such as a purchase, loan application, or account sign-up), Worth It Calculators may receive a commission from that company. This comes at no additional cost to you.
How Affiliate Links Work on This Site
Affiliate links appear in two places on Worth It Calculators:
- After calculator results. When a calculator produces a result, we may show a recommended product or service relevant to your situation. These recommendations appear after you get your score and are clearly labeled.
- In blog posts. Some articles include affiliate links to products or services discussed in the content. These are relevant to the topic and are not inserted to inflate commissions.
Not every link on this site is an affiliate link. We regularly link to government sources, third-party data, calculators at other sites, and other resources with no financial relationship.
Display Advertising
This site participates in Google AdSense, a display advertising program operated by Google. Google may show ads on pages across this site based on your browsing history, location, and other factors Google controls. We do not control which ads appear or select advertisers directly. Ad revenue supplements affiliate income and helps keep the tools free.
Partner Pages Carry No Ads and No Affiliate Links
Some pages here are built for a specific local professional, a real estate agent, a lender, a home inspector, who asked for a version of a calculator tuned to their market and who shares it with their own clients. Those pages carry no display advertising and no affiliate links of any kind. Not a reduced number of them. None.
This is a standing policy, not a case-by-case favor. A page built with a partner is something they put their own professional reputation behind when they hand it to a client, and it would not be reasonable for us to monetize an audience they sent us without telling them. The rest of the site is monetized through the affiliate links and advertising described above, and that is what funds the free tools.
If we ever decide a partner page should carry advertising or an affiliate link, we tell the partner before the change goes live, not after. They are welcome to object, and to ask us to leave the page as it is.
We enforce this in the code rather than by remembering to. Partner pages are flagged in the source, which removes the advertising and monetization scripts entirely rather than merely hiding the ad slots, and an automated check runs on every single deployment that refuses to publish the site if a partner page is found carrying an ad, an affiliate link, or a partner tracking domain. A promise that depends on someone remembering it is not much of a promise.
Our Editorial Standards
Affiliate relationships do not influence our calculator formulas, Worth It Score methodology, or editorial content. A calculator's output is based on the math and publicly sourced data, not on whether a relevant company has an affiliate program. We do not adjust scores, thresholds, or recommendations to favor paying partners. If the numbers don't support a recommendation, we say so.
